Leipzig String Quartet at the CNDM’s Contrapunto de Verano

In June, the Leipzig String Quartet will star the CNDM’s concert series “Contrapunto de Verano” at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid with the pianists Christian Zacharias and Olga Gollej. The programme will present works by Brahms, Schumann and contemporary compositions by Wolfgang Rihm, Jörg Widmann, Bernd Franke, Aribert Reimann and Steffen Schleiermacher.

The pianist Christian Zacharias will participate in the concert on June 1st and 3rd, then the Leipzig Quartet will act on its own on 14th June and finally on June 16th will present the world première of the piano quintet “Der Zauber der rotierenden Träume” by Steffen Schleiermacher, commissioned by the CNDM and the Goethe-Institut Madrid with the pianist Olga Gollej.
