Hermanos Zapico

Comprising the brothers Pablo, Daniel and Aarón Zapico and under the direction of the latter, Forma Antiqva is a musical formation of baroque music that brings together the most illustrious performers of their generation. It is considered to be one of the most important and promising classical music ensembles in Spain.

Their brilliant career includes concerts at prestigious festivals and important concert series in Spain, as the Teatro Real in Madrid, Semana de Música Religiosa de Cuenca, Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada, Quincena Musical in San Sebastián, L’Auditori in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Pórtico de Zamora, Palau de la Música de Valencia and the opening of the opera seasons in Bilbao and Oviedo, attaining unanimous public as well as critics’ acclaim.

Their fastly growing international agenda has led them to important European festivals, as Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele in Germany, Festival Van Vlaanderen in Brugge (Belgium) and to the Summer Festivities of Early Music in Prague. Additionaly Forma Antiqva has toured in Bolivia, Brazil, Singapur, Australia, Italy, Greece, China, Japan, Serbia and France. Future projects include performances at the festivals Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele and Händel-Festspiele Halle and at the concert series musik+ in Austria, as well as new productions like the J.S. Bach’s “St. John Passion” and Gluck’s Ballet “Don Juan”.

Their recording of Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” has been highly acclaimed as a reference album by the specialized European and Spanish press and, as well as their previous recording “Concerto Zapico”, has been a best-seller. Currently being exclusive artists of the renowned label Winter & Winter, all recordings of Forma Antiqva have recieved excellent reviews and numerous awards, including “Supersonic” by Pizzicato, “Exceptional” by Scherzo, “Recommended” by CD Compact, “Excellent” by Ritmo, the Prelude Classical Music Award 2009, two nominations to the International Classical Music Awards in 2010 and 2012 and the Prize for the best recording of baroque vocal music 2008 – 2009 by CD Compact.

Forma Antiqva is artist in residence of the Auditorio “Príncipe Felipe” in Oviedo.
